Conference Photographer, 2017 Ontario Museum Association Conference

As the Volunteer Photographer at the 2017 Ontario Museum Association Conference held in Kingston, Ontario, I helped document session speakers, presenters, award winners, and exhibitors. The annual three day conference involved managing my time to successfully capture for the OMA website and for future association uses.

As the Volunteer Photographer at the 2017 Strong and Successful Museums: The Road to Renewal Conference in Kingston, Ontario, I was in charge of documenting the three day event. The conference was presented by the Ontario Museum Association (OMA) and the Kingston Association of Museums, Art Galleries, and Historic Sites (KAM).

As Volunteer Photographer for the conference, I completed the following:

  • Documented and photographed the three day conference by capturing both organized and candid shots of session speakers, keynote speakers, delegates, exhibitors, presenters, and award winners which resulted in images for the OMA website and archives to promote future annual conferences
  • Managed my time wisely by creating a schedule and routine that allowed for all speakers, exhibitors, presenters, and award winners on the conference shot list to be photographed
  • Organized over 1500 images and edited highlight images of the conference using Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw
  • Listened to speakers and interacted with delegates, exhibitors, speakers, and OMA staff which created networking opportunities

This volunteer experience gave me the opportunity to network with museum professionals and listen in on sessions and workshops.
